Week 14

Hi guys! I am here again to update new things happen for the past week. Last week, My group did courseware learning by using smartbuilder and also my last class for ESP 402 class before the study week break. I include the link below for the courseware!

As time goes by, this week marked the last class with my lecturer, Madam Azida. Thus, I have to prepare for the final exam. When I recall my first day in this class, I still remember that I literally do not know anything about IT. I am a person in other words, or the best words to describe, computer illiterate. I do not know how to use Canva, Powtoon and Smartbuilder. But I am so lucky to have this class because I learn a lot, from zero to hero (hihi). I now really know on how to utilize Canva in doing anything related to editing, posting or designing. Not only that, I learn how to do a video by using Powtoon. I gain a new experience to do an educational video in order to persuade people. Record a podcast for a topic related to 'Happiness'. Something that I would never imagine myself to explore it before I enter this class. My first thought that this class would be difficult, but after all, I made it :) I enjoy every moment of it since I improve myself in using technology in learning. 

To my most amazing lecturer, Madam Azida, I am so grateful to be one of your students in this class. Thanks a million to you for being very passionate in teaching us without fail. I remember that I ask a lot of questions but still, you teach us patiently. Happy mother's day & Happy Ramadhan Mubarak! May Allah bless you with all the goodness in life. Hopefully, this Ramadhan brings us closer to Allah. Perhaps this is the last time I am writing in here. A little did I know, this blog drill myself in my writing skill and expressing my feelings. Week 13

Creating the courseware 

Hi guysss! i'm back to update the journey in creating courseware by using smartbuilder software. As my group consulted our lecturer to proceed with our topic. 

Then, our lecturer showed us step by step in using smartbuilder. It did require us to discover the thumbnails at the top part. So, i tried and error to do the button and so on. Firstly, my group tried to look for appropriate the theme. We all agreed to use Animals in the jungle theme for the background page. The reason why we chose that theme, because we wanted to grab the learners attention to do the courseware. So, we did the first page and tried to do the home button so that the learner could go back to the previous page. Home button is important OK!

In smarbuilder itself, it provides the exercise or worksheet template that can be utilize for the exercises part in the lesson. We are lucky that our lecturer, Madam Azida teaches us on how to do the exercises that consist of multiple choice question, fill in the blanks, and true or false. Not only that, our lecturer guides us on how to insert an audio in the page that we want to have a sound. This software is really amazing as it can create a lot of things in there. Not just for e-learning purposes. Before this, i do not even know what is smartbuilder until i learn it today.

Week 12

Smart Builder

Hi guys today, I would like to update a new topic that I had learnt in class. My lecturer introduces us with a new lesson on how to design courseware by using smart builder. First of all, courseware is an education program for students, usually, need to use with a computer. Furthermore, courseware also is used to deliver knowledge in educating the students. 

Now that you know about courseware. Our lecturer then introduces us with Smartbuilder in order for us to design courseware. At first, we were all clueless and did not know how to do it. after that, our lecturer told us that we need to install the software, then only you can do the courseware. Smartbuilder is the fastest e-learning authoring tool for creating serious e-learning including scenarios, gamification, branching, assessments and more.  But before we design the courseware, my group had to write the outline for our courseware. Basically, what you want to teach them, Which level of students that you wanted to teach and the exercise that you wanted to prepare for them. right after our lecturer, gave us a green light, we started to download the software. the downside about the software only provides you for 30 days trial. My group agreed to do the sentence for simple sentence, complex and compound sentence. We also started to choose our theme that we wanted to display as a background for the courseware. That's all for now. will update more about the journey to design courseware.

Week 11

Instructional Development Learning System 

Hi guys! this is the model that my group need to present in our class. It is quite hard to find a description of the model. I keep searching for the information and this is what I found, This model originally is invented in 1970 by Peter J. Esseff and together with her partner, Mary Sullivan Esseff. Both of them produced as on How to Design, Develop and Validate Instructional Materials. He is known to be the Father of Military Model mentioned above as he contributed synthesized existing theories to develop their approach to system design which called IDLS.

The four component of the model are:

Week 10

Instructional Design

Hello everyone, I am going to update a new topic which is about Instructional design is the creation of learning experiences and materials in a way which results in the acquisition and application of knowledge and skills. The discipline follows a system of assessing needs, designing a process, developing materials and evaluating its effectiveness. The process will involve what the learners' need.

Strategies of Instructional Design:

There are three types of learning strategies in Instruction Design (Reigeluth,1983).

1. Organizational

Organizational strategies are broken down on the micro or macro level so that the lesson may be properly arranged and sequenced. 

2. Delivery

Delivery strategies are concerned with the decisions that affect the way in which information is transferred to the learners. For example, e-learning.

3. Management

Manage the strategies that involve together with the decisions and processes that allow the learners to interact with the learning activities in order that they may increase their knowledge and skills.

Week 9

Powtoon Review

Hello everyone! I am back with another lesson to update here. So, today is the day the whole groups need to submit our Powtoon video regarding the campaign that we did for our topic. Our group managed to finish editing the video a day before the submission day. We are so happy that we make it through all the sleepless night in order to make sure that video and the script are well prepared for our lecturer to watch it. 

None of us is a great editor, but together we are able to do it. We have to make sure the content itself can attract people attention, in our case, our lecturer. Need to have animated pictures and basically need to be creative in our own way in order to be interesting for our audience as our target audience are the obesity people. Frankly, nobody wants to see a boring video, therefore, I am thankful that I am capable to do this because previously, I thought to do a Powtoon video is quite hard as there were a lot of things you needed to do before you start to do a video. By doing Powtoon for my groupd assignment, I did not fear to use Powtoon after this for my informal or casual presentation because it makes a huge difference in the presentation itself. people will just look at your video with all the animated things go around so nobody will fall asleep then during the presentation. 

My group has to upload our video in youtube and paste the link in the document that our lecture gives to us. When almost every group paste the link, she clicked it and looked at the video each of the groups which were really scary actually. But Alhamdulillah, we did it. She was happy with the outcome of every group. 

Week 8

Road to do an explainer video

Hello everyone!! I am back for updating a new lesson for this week. This week my lecturer has assigned me and my friends to do an explainer video. The tasks that I have to do is to create a campaign video by using Powtoon. As this is an assignment in a group so our lecturer madam Azida split us into each group will going to have 3 people in there.  We have to do an informative video regarding a topic that is free to choose in order to acknowledge people for this campaign. 

Therefore, the first thing that my group did, we chose our topic that we want to do for our campaign. We decided to choose "Plogging" as our idea to persuade people to do it as it is started to be widely known in many other countries such as Germany, America and Sweden.  The reason why we chose" Plogging", it is because the garbage around our environment has increased, especially at the park. Not only that, but the level of obesity among people is also increasing as year by year. Hence, we are here to give a solution to those problems. It is by doing "Plogging". Well, "Ploging" is actually a jogging activity while picking up the rubbish around you.

we did revise our script twice with our lecturer, Madam Azida. It is hard at first get to do an interesting explainer script video because it required us to be more lively and able to attract our audience attention to get what we wanted to tell them in a conversational tone. The reason why we chose this topic for our campaign is that we want to give information to people so that they would aware of plogging and the true meaning behind it.
